Welcome to the Business Women Network of Howard County!

BWN began in 1979 as 'The Women's Network' with the goal of providing an informal networking setting for women. In 1992, the group refocused to provide a more formal networking organization and incorporated in November of that year.

A volunteer board of directors runs BWN, which has nearly 200 members representing large and small businesses, non-profits, government and private organizations. Although most members live or work in Howard County, individuals from all over the Baltimore/ Washington Corridor area attend monthly meetings.

David Utts of Executive Skillworks has been speaking and presenting on Leadership for years and is excited to present "Power and Passion of Creative Leadership. As you know being a business leader requires a high level of creativity. When we are creative we can leverage business opportunities and mitigate challenges with great ease. Yet, the day to day experience of running a business while dealing with life can get you down. When we let "life and business get us" - we tend to lead from a different set of emotions that do not support our creativity in the moment. During this presentation David Utts will engage us around how to maintain our creative powers every day and what to do when you lose touch with them. You will walk away with new understandings and practical steps to engage your creative leadership every day.
