The Programs Committee meets monthly – sometimes more often -- from July-September when the programs are being set up and less frequently the other months when meetings are set. The committee is responsible for suggesting topics and speakers to the board and, once approved, securing the speakers. The committee is responsible for follow up prior to the meeting, making sure the speaker’s needs are met, coordinating the speaker gift, and sending a thank you note after the presentation. This committee also handles our coffee meet-ups and happy hours. Contact the Director of Programs if you are interested in assisting this committee.

The Marketing and Communications Committee is primarily responsible for investigating avenues to get the BWN name recognized. The committee will make recommendations to the board as to where to place ads to get the most visibility, what marketing campaigns have the best chance of reaching potential members and how to do so in the most economical way possible. Once the board has approved their suggestions, the committee will be responsible for executing the task(s). This committee will also give recommendations to the board as to how best to communicate with its members to ensure inclusion and increase membership tenure.

Whether you are a marketing pro, or would like to learn more about marketing and public relations, this committee is your opportunity to participate and to learn while doing. Contact the Director of Marketing and Communications to get the date and location of the next meeting.

This committee is responsible for the Membership table and the tabletop sponsor signs at all meetings. They also help the Hospitality Committee make all guests and new members feel welcome. This committee makes recommendations to the board as to the membership levels, benefits and cost. Contact the Director of Membership if you are interested in assisting this committee.

The Hospitality Committee is responsible for the registration table at all meetings and making guests and new members feel welcome. This committee is responsible for securing door prizes for every meeting, ensures that the meetings run smoothly, menu selection, sets up the sound system/microphone, and puts out the nametags. The committee also annually reviews meeting venues, and plans the July Informal Networking lunch. From location and menu selection to ease of check-in, from being greeted at the door by a friendly BWN member, to winning a great door prize, the Hospitality Committee helps you have a fun and stress free meeting.
